Four. The superstitious avoid the number, as it sounds
like the Chinese word for death. Perhaps they are
right to fear it - there is a certain power to words, after all.

Tell me, have you ever had a close encounter with death?

I have. When I was younger, I narrowly escaped its clutches.
Paranoid, I swore to never allow its presence near me again.

I've watched it claim others. Perhaps I've even hastened
that process a few times to preserve my own beautiful entity.
My wonderful golden light can never be extinguished.

People say I'm lucky.
I'd like to say I'm clever.
