A weak imperial, limping profusely, rushed through the Scarred Wasteland. I can’t give birth here I can’t I can’t I promised him. She was so pregnant it was exhausting to fly large distances. Frahier was visiting her childhood home in Plague to share with her relatives all her adventures in the Shifting Expanse, not to mention the handsome Lightning ridgeback, who’s baby she was carrying. What her family didn’t know was he was very faithful to Stormcatcher, and demanded all his offspring be of the Lightning flight.Frahier respects his wish, but didn’t realize the birth would come so soon! She collapsed on the edge of the Wasteland, not believing that she could go any further. The thought of Svora’s rage when he found out his child was not lightning-born was awful. What would he do to the hatchling? Kill it? This thought energized her and she was able to shakily stand up and stumble on.

At the end of the Reedcleft Ascent Fahier found herself collapsing again, staring up into the Twisting Crescendo. Through the howling wind she could spot the Ashfall Waste and Sea of a Thousand Currents. Oh how can I carry on?! It hurts so much! But I must! I’m sure Svora would rather have the hatchling be of my flight than some random flight, if it can’t be Lightning!

~ Little did she know, Svora’s connection to the Stormcatcher was strong enough that He himself felt the struggle of this unborn child. He wanted that child to have Lightning blood. Because he can’t leave his realm unattended, Stormcatcher sent instant word to the Windsinger and Flamecaller, offering a piece of this child in exchange for quick passage to the Lightning realm. The Gods agreed. ~


Frahier, on the verge of passing out, was swept up into the crescendo, in what felt like arms, but were soft like clouds. She saw herself zooming over the Wind realm, passing all the ravines and ridges she’d have to scale. The Fire realm was approaching, and to her horror she was tossed. Being as weak as she was, Frahier could not fly to save herself. Instead, a hot gust of air powered her wings, sending her soaring faster than any dragon ever had. Up ahead was the Shifting Expanse. Oh my how amazing is this, I've traveled a many-day journey in just one da-

Fahier was struck by lightning.

When she awoke, she lay on the very top of the Tempest Spire. There was a quiet crackling, which she at first mistook as the energy of the tower. But she looked to her right, and there stood a sizzling, powerful ridgeback, with lighting in his eyes, fire in his scales, and wind in his soul. A deep, booming voice erupted from his throat, and seemed to echo no matter what setting he is in. This reminded Fahier of the Stormcatcher Himself.

Your son has died. He was too mortal to handle all those elements put inside him. The Stormcatcher took pity on you and have brought you me. I am your son now, and will act like so if you wish.

I do Fahier cried I want my son! She passed out
There was a bright flash, and Fahier started the birthing process.

Many moons have passed, and Fahier still has not told her child Yadon how he entered this world, and what he is capable of. But he will soon learn.
