After the leader of his previous clan was killed due to his absence he was kicked out of the clan.
He actually doesn’t remember what happened on that night but he felt himself that he had basically betrayed his own clan and so left willingly.
It appears that some of his peers believed that him leaving was too soft a judgement so he often has to fight off former friends.
He eventually met Magpie and they began travelling together, looking for a place where they could settle. As soon as they found this clan Magpie believed it was perfect and immediately started making herself at home. Harwin however still had to deal with the attacks from his previous clan and eventually decided to claim asylum, hoping that it would put an end to the attacks.
