No one was really sure where the hyperactive little bogsneak came from. At first, he had been the source of a great deal of concern for the clan's dragons. The hatchling moved too quickly when you weren't looking, glowed in the dark, and ate sticky, confetti icing by the pound.

But day by day, the clan grew used to him. They learned not to stare at him for too long, else be stuck the swirling after-images for hours, and even grew accustomed to the faint buzzing sound he emitted when he was especially happy. After a while, he was just the sweet little hatchling that stumbled on their home, kind and affectionate to all, with a passion for drawing and collecting grotesque stuffed animals.1

Of course, when the clan realized he stayed a small, adorable hatchling, never growing, never changing, everyone was far too fond of him to say anything. It was just one of those things Halflife did. He stuck to the walls, was an excellent guide for navigating the forest, and he never grew up.

1. As to where he found those wretched things, it was best not to ask.
