It was about to be her favorite time. Don't get her wrong, she thought the way the setting sun lit up the sky in brilliant warm colors was pretty amazing, but her favorite thing was what happened after. Her favorite time was when the sun set and pulled the light with it leaving behind only darkness. She would then wait for a new set of stars to appear in the night sky.

She sat under this large umbrella thorn every night in hopes of matching the strange pattern of stars on her own body to those in the night sky. If she found the pattern, then she would be able to follow it and find her way home. As she sat under the umbrella thorn looking up at the sky, she heard something walking out of the grass.

Most might have been terrified of a raptor walking towards them in the night, but not her. There was a kindness in his eyes that told her he meant her no harm. He sat quietly next to her under the tree for a few minutes before asking her what she was looking for. She told him honestly, and he sat quietly again for a few minutes processing her response.

"Have you ever thought" he said quietly "that the reason you can't find a match in the sky is because your home is here?"
