CLAN RENEGADE
The Clan Renegade is a somewhat infamous nomadic group within Sornieth. It is their belief that deities should not rule over dragons, as it is a selfish and sadistic move to create life for these reasons. Because of their controversial stances, they are often forced to moved from place to place to avoid being noticed.

FEELINGS

As a hatchling, Cindra always felt ashamed of her natural abilities to tap into elemental fire magic as it reminded her of her intended position as servant of the Flamecaller. Thus, she would avoid using magic as much as possible.

After moving to Starlit Landing, her general anxiety reduced as she now had a secure place to live without fear of danger. In this space she was able to come to terms with the fact that trying to change the way her natural body functions was not the way to get control of her life. Cindra has now embraced her element as a part of who she is and a talent, rather than a curse, and she considers it her own rather than something the Flamecaller lent her.

HISTORYxxxxxShort quote here.

It was not unusual for other dragons to spread gossip and myths about Clan Renegade, particularly those that find their treatment of the deities disgracefully disrespectful. Cindra and her kin had chosen to stay at a new settlement, when they noticed a recurring issue arising. The townsfolk seemed to be becoming suspicious of them. They matched all the descriptions from the tales of the blasphemous nomads heard in taverns all over Sornieth, and strangers couldn't help but notice. As the clan head towards the gates to leave, they were confronted by guards who demanded they explain themselves.

Defiantly the leaders of the clan openly admitted their beliefs, which angered the crowd of citizens who had gathered to watch. It seemed that they had been unlucky enough to visit a particularly spiritual town, who had no intention of allowing them to go free. Barely managing to escape being imprisoned for their sins, the biggest of the Clan Renegade rushed past the guards, using brute force to knock them out of the way. The whole confrontation ended in multiple injuries on both sides - with the renegades considerably worse for wear - before they fled.

Safety, at last. A camp was set up in an open field as soon as the clan managed to lose the angry mob. Cindra watched as her comrades cleaned their wounds by the campfire, which flickered in the breeze. Every time the winds of the Windswept Plateau threatened to distinguish the flame, one of her elders nonchalantly reached out her claws and emboldened the fire with magic. Cindra felt both disgust and, secretly, jealousy at seeing this action. How could they not be ashamed of their flight magic, just as she is?

The young nocturne grimaced with every chilly gust of wind that hit her back, and tightened her grip of her bag. She decided to take a walk to get away from the campsite and think for a bit, as her anxieties were becoming overwhelming. She limped far enough out of view of her kin to relax, without having to explain herself to anyone.

Laying with her claws dipped in a stream and her patched-up wings wrapped round her face, Cindra sighed in exhaustion. The cold trickle of the water against her fingers distracted her somewhat from her urge to burst into tears.

"Oh my!" a shrill voice from across the water opened Cindra's wings from in front of her face. A tiny, striped serpentine being stood in rustling grass across from her. "You can't fly with wings like that!"

"Leave me alone, you nosy little worm!" Cindra hissed back before closing her wings once again. The spiral hopped across the stream to sit beside her, and get a better look at her injuries.

"Why would such a rough-and-tumble fighter like you be hiding, then?" the stranger teased. Although, she got no reaction. With a frustrated shrug, she allowed herself to fall backwards to lie in the grass, with her tail dangling in the water. Then, she covered her own eyes with the leaves from her chest guard. The two lay still for a while.

Cindra, having heard no movement for a moment, peeked out under her arm to see where the stranger was. Embarrassed and offended, the nocturne rose to her feet, yelping "Are you making fun of me?!" and swiping the covering off of the spiral's face to get a better look at her. This new dragon just laughed, showing no intimidation.

"I just wanted to see what was so much fun!"

"You think you're so funny! You and everyone else!" Her anger caused her temperature to rise until her scales were nearly uncomfortably hot to touch. "Why don't you just get lost!" tears erupted from her amber eyes and boiled into steam as they rolled down her jaw. Noticing her elemental abilities accidentally coming into view, she panicked and jumped into the stream to cool off. Sympathetic, the much older spiral flinched as the steam hissed into the breeze.

"I'm Shamblestar," the stranger squint her eyes with judgement, "and I can tell that whoever you are, you don't feel in control. What is your clan like?"

"Why would you possibly think that?!" Cindra snapped back, her head splashing out of the water.

"Because," Shamblestar sighed, "You started crying when I wouldn't do what you said. And then you lept into the water when your body heated up involuntarily. Most dragons don't get quite so stressed out when unexpected things happen."

Cindra lowered her head below the water's surface again, feeling exposed. Maybe the stranger had a point. Maybe she did feel powerless? Her muzzle peeked out of the water again, allowing her to reply, "My clan is always in danger. We have to travel constantly. I never know where we are."

"So why don't you move somewhere more secure, little one?"

"Where could I even go? Dragons recognise our clan elders and will drive us out of settlements before we even talk to anyone."

"Who said anything about your clan elders? You'd be moving without them, right?" Shamblestar layed down on her belly, with her chin resting on the edge of grass. "You can come with me, to my clan. It's called Starlit Landing. You can start from the begginning again, and even have a space in the lair to decorate as your own."
