Biography
The Fallen Queen
Frostwing was once a Queen known by another name, but her entire kingdom fell in one night, swept and engulfed by war, a war that wasn't even theirs.
Heartbroken by grief she fled and flew carrying with her a few hatchlings she could save from her once beautiful home.
The poor children didn't make it though, they were heavily injured when they fled and a few weeks later they were no more.
Frostwing wept and wept and wept and through her tears she roamed, too weak to fly anymore, too heartbroken to care.
She felt the cold spread from her empty heart to her bones, to her wings and before she knew she was almost dead, lying in the Snowsquall Tundra covered by a thin layer of ice, wings frozen and fingers stiff.
She almost gave up, but then she heard it, a sound a voice.
Then she called, as loud as she could with her broken voice and someone answered.
The most beautiful dragon she had ever laid her eyes on.
Broken was his name, but whole he made her in all but a moment.
She was saved by him, healed and given a new home, welcome to a new family and her heart finally stopped bleeding. She learned to love the snow that almost killed her and the cold that almost robbed her wings.
When she met him he was such a mess, a broken thing just like her, but despite their scars they completed each other, she was the pieces that fit in his cracks.
It was not enough though.
Her devotion, her unconditional love.
It was not enough.
Broken chose to forget, his past, his sorrows, his very being.
Ravenghast was the name of the fell creature that took Frostwing's beloved away from her and gave back a shadow of the dragon that he was.
He says he feels whole, but all Frostwing sees is how he was broken even more and patched together like a mockery of his wish.
For her lover, the former Queen raged.
To the creature, she focused an unhealthy frightening level of unadulterated hatred.
Oh if there was only a way to destroy the thing.
Her very soul cried for revenge a desire as strong as the one when she lost her kingdom, for her it was as if losing it all over again.
The pain was almost unbearable, but she was a Queen, even if she had no one to rule anymore, no land to care, she did have though a dragon to love and she would not break.
She didn't hate her mate though, he was not the same, other things clung to his soul, but his essence was still there and above all, she made a promise.
"I'll love you no matter what you do, no matter what."
Her words echoed in her mind.
She promised him her love and as a Queen, even if a fallen one, she would see it to the bitter end.
