Valentinus

Valentinus joined the clan on Sullivan's recommendation, in truth. Sullivan had been on an expedition out of the clan and ran into little Valentinus, then named Rose, who had wandered away from his parents to annoy strangers and flirt with danger. Sullivan graciously allowed the impish little skydancer to join him until he could be returned home, until Valentinus led him to 'a friend'--that being Kitty, who charmed Sullivan instantly. Val teasing remarked on how they should be a couple, and in short order they were. Kitty insisted he was a little cupid of sorts, much like a distant myth of something named Valentine that led people to loving unions, and then Rose replied impishly that if he were to be a Valentine then he'd at least prefer to be a Valentinus, something more refined.

When returned home, Pearl and Rosette were amused to find that their child had found new friends and a new clan to return home to and, most of all, a new name. Upon Sullivan pressing Val forward only for Val to declare that he wanted to go with Sullivan and Kitty, they decided to let him go (so long as they met the clan leaders of course). Cuddlebunny and Snugglebug arrived within a day and left within two, two new members added to their lair.

Valentinus, now grown, is still just as impish in adulthood as in youth, though his skills in matchmaking are twice as clever and much more surreptitious. As matchmaker of the clan, Valentinus has an eye for perfect pairings, and hones his talents by playing Runestones of the Arcanist daily.

Val's familiar, Aurelia the Sweetheart Swan, was obtained by Pellimore, the clan's shopper of sorts who has an eye for deals. When asked why, she snorted and answered with amusement "Look, she's clearly his bird-twin!"
