Crimson glinted in the lush grass. The waves pulled and pounded the shore recklessly, and the swollen moon winked through the whispering trees- yet, the night was devoid of wind, as if the world were holding its breath. Surely, surely there was a reason for the festering scent of carnage, the distant burning fires, the shouts and roar of metal upon metal, metal upon flesh. Surely there was a solution to bind the bleeding wounds of war, a brilliant, lustrous pearl hidden amongst the sea of carnage and mangled footprints of battle. And somehow, the Triumvirate had found it. |

They found it in the wails of war, when those cries reached a heart-wrenching crescendo did they finally understand that War's demons were tireless, filthy creatures who only cared for blood to be spilled on sacred ground, blood that would be signed into oaths and fake treaties and false alliances only to be broken, to only paint the ground deep hues of crimson once more. They found it in the heartbroken citizens who paced worn floorboards over and over, grasped rotting bouquets for those who would never return, and when those floorboards broke, when all scraps of sanity were lost, did they truly understand that War, in one's heart, truly has no end. Through suffering and loss and pain and battle with cruel fate, the Triumvirate found hope. War was only a grain of sand that had entered the clam's soft layers of tissue, a mere irritation in the vast reservoir of willpower. From this grain of irritation blossomed a lustrous pearl of Storm and Spell and Shadow, of who they came to call "Eoduin". She held their dream aloft, Yet, the raging balance between Good and Evil, Light and Dark, Ma'at, was not appeased. War did not simply end in the bat of an eyelash, nor did it end crushed under the massive fist of a super-dragon being. Thus, from the moans and metallic screech of battle, a dark being with a heart that only pumped hatred through its veins and a mind that only knew suffering, was born. It leeched off those brave beings who called themselves the Triumvirate, those beings from Storm and Spell and Shadow who carried thousand-pound-burdens of War and Fate.
