Biography

WPW-797 "Blackthorn"

WYVERN TYPE:
Quick, savage, and cunning, these types of dracoform are highly capable of combat- and love to show it. They stand almost exclusively on two legs and move surprisingly fast. They make for passionate soldiers or brutal warriors, carrying an undying flame in their hearts.
No, seriously. They have fire inside them. Just look down their throats.

"Phantom"
This variant of wyvern is more secretive than its brethren, preferring the darkness and cover of shadows and obscurity. Despite the darkness affinity, the fire power of this type seems to have increased, the flame they wield hotter and brighter than the regular Blaze Wyvern. A bit poetic, burning bright in the face of a yawning abyss...

If you are reading this briefing, you have been given sufficient information clearance to this document as FENRIR staff, defender or researcher. This is a classified document, so we at FENRIR trust you will handle this information well. You have no doubt already been briefed on what happens to information leakers, detailed in document.... (this text is illegible...)

This document details the recently discovered creatures, dubbed "dracoform aragami" and "beastform aragami", that have been rapidly evolving alongside the flights and beastclans since over a decade ago, first discovered at ???????????. Aragami as a whole are beings that we know very little about, only that they are very fast evolving, and eat a lot more than the species that they emulate- namely, the dragons of this land. Hence, "dracoform".

It is initially somewhat difficult to discern them from regular dragon breeds due to the organism's uncanny tendency to mimic other lifeforms, and/or dragonmade relics and objects while quickly evolving in their respective habitat. One telling feature is the appetite of a suspected specimen.
They will eat most anything they can get their jaws around- be it in the "dragon's" apparent diet or not. Some have reportedly been able to consume deadly poisons or inedibles, such as rocks or apparel, even inorganic or spectral familiars of dragons in clans. As mentioned before, they also evolve and learn at an alarming rate, typically within a week reaching a level of comprehension rivaling scholars.

Connection to the phenomena known as 'the Shade' or the elemental flight gods is currently unknown. The aragami will possess elemental powers of their 'birthplace' drawn from the energies within the area, and will sometimes have a secondary 'latent' element unique to its cellular build. This latent element is independent of 'birthplace' and manifests upon the creature's materialization. Their eyes, just like dragons, will reflect the natural element, regardless of eye types. Eye types, in addition, are assumed to be wholly cosmetic on the dracoform. More research is needed.
*DISCOVERY as of ??/??/????*: Connection to the phenomena known as 'the Shade' has been confirmed. Within their magic, their dna, and their cellular structure, the primal urge to devour the world lies in waiting. It may very well be a looming apocalypse. Beware.
The aragami have no concept of gender or sexuality. However, some may choose to present a certain way based on preference.
It is currently unknown how they reproduce, as no mating ritual has been observed.
Most specimens will tend to have either of the secondary sex features of the dragon breed they are based off of (ex: pearlcatcher's horn or horns, wildclaw crest size, bogsneak fin count, guardian beard growth, ect) but otherwise do not have any internal physiological differences between 'male' and 'female'.
It is, subsequentially, unknown what the 'eggs' look like, if there are any.
It is assumed that the 'eggs' will look similar to dragon eggs, though this is unconfirmed.

*DISCOVERY as of ?/?/????*: The 'eggs' are mass clusters of cells, the types of which are unique to microbiology as we know it. Like typical eggs, there is a nucleus of sorts within. They look identical to dragon eggs of any flight and of any breed. Despite our best efforts, we have not been able to witness any member of this species laying them. Eyewitness accounts seem to describe them "forming from nothing." We have begun calling this 'egg' the core, as the beast seemingly "grows around it" as reported by spotters.

Feral and hostile dracoform aragami are common in equally hostile environments- and may attack unwary travelers unprovoked. However, clan integrated dracoform are also common, being members of clans across the continent. They are well informed and capable when raised with dragons (or any sentient life, for that matter) learning how to speak and fight very quickly from their benefactors and keeping up with anything clan life may throw at them.

We at FENRIR Sornieth are doing the best we can to gather data on this peculiar creature. However, we require the help of clans in every flight to look for and register any of these dracoform aragami they might find. If you wish to join our cause, we encourage you to step forward at any outpost. Ask for Amamiya.

Listed above is this dragon's class and specifications, as well as any notes on-file of behavior and preferred locale. As we are still discovering more and more species of this curious kind of organism, we ask that any dracoform be reported and submitted to our team posthaste.
