Alchemist
As the clan's resident alchemist, Magnus loves his job. Ever since he was a hatchling he's been fascinated by the process of melting things down to create entirely new substances and materials.He began his career at an early age, melting down and creating items for other dragons at a cost, and he was so efficient at his job he quickly gained the attention of Titania, who had been looking for a good, reliable alchemist to do her bidding for quite some time. He agreed to join The Focal Company with one condition: he's allowed to melt down anything and everything he wants to, with no questions asked about ethics or morality. Titania was quick to agree, she never really had any qualms about morality in alchemy to begin with. Nowadays Magnus spends his time in the lab, brewing up concoctions and melting things down for science, all in the name of alchemical research for Titania. He's pleasant enough to speak to, in fact some dragons consider him almost too polite and friendly for a dragon who rarely leaves his lab to interact with anyone. He could have even been a popular member of the clan if it weren't for the somwhat...questionable sounds dragons can sometimes hear from his lab and the fact that political prisoners residing in The Focal Company sometimes go missing at night, and every time they do, the next day Magnus is up bright and early with a new type of substance brewed up in his cauldron. Whether the rumours are true or not, Magnus is still considered a highly productive and valuable member of the clan for the research he's put into alchemy alone. Titania is willing to let him do whatever he deems fit in the name of advancing the clan's scientific prowess. If that prowess comes at the cost of other dragon's lives, well, at least their lives were useful for something. |
