Not many of his kind still exist anymore. Ages ago many dragons who spent too much time in the Hewn City would find themselves in the company of countless lost souls. Although mostly present in the nighttime, they would roam around as little orbs of light or wisps of cold air that would taunt passerby. Most were neutral in nature, others, angry and more vocal than others. Two different types of dragons would encounter these ghosts. Ones who were afraid and fled at the sight of them, or those who would solemnly accept their presence and embrace it. Aneo was one of the latter. Soon, he would become one of the very few left to stay in the Sunbeam Ruins. Aneo spends much of his evening sitting in the silence of open areas within the Hewn City. His ears perked and attentive to the sounds of all that is around him, and who. He can hear all the whispers of the long lost voices that once inhabited the city. He learns their names, their stories, their thoughts as they whisper to him. Sometimes he would speak to them, and they would speak back. Sometimes they ask questions, if only for their own bemusement. Nothing much comes of his time speaking with spirits other than for his senses to become more sensitive to them. Each night he hears them clearer and louder, and he can feel the separate emotion of each soul. Eventually Aneo would perfect these abilities as an adult and become a Medium. Those whose lairs have lost spirits in them may employ Aneo to speak to them, even if only for answers if he cannot help them 'walk on'. It's a talent he takes humbly. Everyone is respectful of his work so despite his normally quiet demeanor, he makes a wonderful addition to any lair who shares in strange passions. --- ♦ --- |
