While his sister has always been the lively, exuberant sort, Kavi is a much more demure, collected figure. After all, it takes a vast amount of energy to shift space according to one's will.

He denies that it affects the future, the way his magic warps and folds the universe beyond Sornieth, but they call him "Starstitcher" nonetheless. It's no secret that when he works, he reshapes the stars, realigning them into the form of new futures, and any seasoned astrologer is sure to witness the change.

But in Kavi's eyes, astrology is a fickle, useless art. It means nothing next to power like his own, power if effects that can be confirmed, even guaranteed. Yet he does not fully understand his own power, if he is to tell the truth. Understanding how his magic works is one thing; he grasps the minutiae of how to mold swathes of space well enough to do such a monumental thing quite regularly. Why he does it, though, still escapes him.

He reaps no benefit from it. It does not reveal the mysteries of the universe in any way, and he is not paid to tamper with the stars, not by anyone. In fact, the effort is rather taxing, requiring intense focus and a deep well of energy. And yet he persists, lying under the stars each night, wrapping them around his claws and drawing them tight. It is a mystery, one Kavi is certain he will never solve.
