Polaris

Born from a story about a star, this Imperial looking...thing sees himself as important. His name shifts in the story between the name he prefers and what most know the object as: the north star.

Polaris awoke in a blur, lights dotting his surroundings as particles float along. He feels a pull towards the sky and reaches up, forming the rough shape of an arm. Without a base to form himself after, the form he takes is rather unsettling: a sphere covered with the multiple eyes and mouths of his kind with runes swirling around them, held up by several pillars that could function as either arms or legs. His eyes scan his surroundings, observing the carvings of dragons. A few of the disorganized eyes settled on a form with large antler-like horns, and Polaris shifted his form to match, seeing it as more efficient then his previous form.

Setting out to silence the gnawing hunger, the young amalgamate set himself upon a small camp occupied by a single dragon. The experience that followed was terrifying: the memories and thoughts of his prey flooded his mind. Frantically, the now two-minded Polaris searched the crates neatly stacked in the camp. He pulled out a hood and pulled it over his head to quiet the storm.

Once the voice had calmed and merged with the previously single mind, Polaris was able to sort through the new memories. The dragon had known about things like him; the amalgamates and some of their abilities. The memories also knew of the Hivemind: a terror to everything and an unstoppable force. Polaris became intrigued by the second set of information they had acquired. They now knew that many hives existed along with where to find a few. They became excited at the idea of furthering the studies of the new mind they had acquired, and the best way of doing that was to have some to study closely.

A few days after fully merging the new mind, Polaris began to seek out the hives they knew of. The first steps they were going to take were to study the territories and overall behaviors of each hive. In each case, they were caught and had to either devour the drones or kill them. Doing this they felt they weren't making progress.
