This husk isn't just an empty shell. There is a thin layer of some kind of flaky, dried-out liquid that pooled along the bottom of the exuvium, strikingly similar to blood. In addition, there are sometimes swarms of bugs crawling around inside, occasionally making the husk shift and tremble with the semblance of life.

Sometimes it makes a disturbing, hissing sound that doesn't seem to be related to the bugs crawling around inside. Many who hear it do not stick around for long and they are still alive to tell the tale. Occasionally a hatchling goes missing when they venture too close to the area where the Husk is known to reside.
