Biography
Quote:
The light, violet coloring is what makes the Taro dragons stand out. There is a chance that a hatchling will have floral markings, the Filigree gene, which gives an extra sweetness or nuttiest to there scent.
Taro dragons have an unique scent. They can smell starchy, nutty, sweet or earthy, with varying levels. No two scents are ever alike.
Taro dragons are quite prim and proper, they take special care in grooming themselves and can spend up to a few hours each day doing so. They make sure every claw sparkles and their bodies shine, especially those that exhibit the Glimmer gene who are very proud of their glittering bellies. They are exceptionally fussy when it is time for them to molt, wanting to be comfortable and free of any shedding.
With this, almost obsessive, behavior there is a surprising fact that Taro dragons do enjoy to be buried in lush, fertile soil. The warm earth reminds them of happier times, feel connected to their ancestors. Hatchlings particularly do this behavior often, which the parents do not mind as long as they clean themselves up. The adults do this as well but only when it is time to breed as the nests are dug into the earth. The female gives her eggs a plush layer of dirt before she sits, her mate will assist in giving her a light coating as well. The male will also be responsible for bringing his lady food during this time and keep any creatures away that could try to dig to steal his eggs.
