Peony
—My Silence Is Not Indifference—

Peony is so quiet that it's not uncommon for new arrivals to think she's mute. While she doesn't mind talking, she also doesn't have a pressing need either. She's happy enough to be around others, listening to them talk, without joining in herself. Peony is gentle and dedicated to her work as a healer. Her keen eye picks up almost immediately when someone isn't feeling well or even favoring a foot. Though she's soft-spoken, Peony doesn't put up with anyone trying to be stoic or tough out their problems. The worst offender is her mate, Topaz, but she knows him so well that he can't hide anything from her. When she wants to relax, she enjoys swimming - or floating, really, in warm waters for hours at a time.

• Peony adores children. Her gentle manner makes her the preferred nurse whenever one is sick. It's not uncommon for young ones to invent an illness just so Peony will fuss over them. Of course, she knows what they're doing but is happy to indulge them anyways.
• She is widely considered the best tea-maker in the entire clan. She has a good sense of flavors and likes to brew unusual, but delicious, combinations.
• Though Topaz is the clan leader, Peony has no desire for leadership herself. She's happy to give advice to him, or anyone who asks, but she turns down greater responsibility than that. She knows she has enough work caring for the clan.
• Peony is much more of a night owl, and would rather stay up late. She has forced herself onto a schedule of rising early, however, so she can tend to her duties.
• When she's deep in thought, she has a tendency to suck/chew on her whiskers.
• She loves to read. Strangely enough, her favorite genre is horror stories.
