Gilgandra could've had a pleasant, happy childhood. But that privilege was stripped away from her. She hatched with her sister and two other ridgebacks, both males. Even before they opened their eyes for the first time, they loved each other. They all slept together, they were the closest friends. It was almost like they were all siblings, most of the clan considered it that way. But this heart-warming scene only lasted a single day. They were stolen. The Thief glided silently on the wind, carrying the blessings of the Windsinger. The Thief's intentions weren't as you would expect, at the very worst a Wind dragon would force them to build kites and hot-air balloons. But when the search party found their mangled carcasses hanging from an old blue quandong tree, they would've ripped their own eyes straight out of their skulls if it could've possibly helped them forget what they saw. The Thief had skinned them alive! The only one own who had the stomach to take them down for a proper burial was Serkonos, a wandering ridgeback who had joined the search party upon finding Gilgandra whimpering under a bush. She had slipped away from the Thief as he was tying them up. Poor Gilgandra, the soul survivor, she had to watch her brothers and sister get slaughtered right before her very own eyes. What's worst is that the crazed lunatic intended on using their skins to make novelty kites. Gilgandra eventually learned to live without them, but she never accepted their death. She made up names for them, and played with their ghosts. Her sister, who she called Bip, was most often the only playing with Gilgandra. But you could sometimes find her playing hide-and-seek with Ticcy and Elphe. Which is way she was overjoyed when she found out she'll have two little sisters, real, living ones to play with. But Her mother, Tamara, decide it would be best not to let them play together, as Gilgandra has PTSD and a few other mental conditions burned into her impressionable young mind by the Thief. So poor little Gilgandra couldn't have her new sisters, and her new sisters couldn't have a big sibling to look up to. Notes
