Biography

Razorwind//// Keeper of the Lost Souls Tribe//// Insomniac and traveller

Heavy Earthshaker Idol earthshade.pngNRbW1Qr.png Journeyman Satchels

When you're nightmares reflect your memories, there's nothing to do but try not to sleep. Razorwind is a voluntary insomniac. He doesn't want to remember the snapping teeth, the roars of anger, the claws that reached out to snatch him from life.

The only thing he can think to do is to outrun his nightmares and find a safe haven to sleep when the crash happens. But the safety is an illusion no matter what Baelor and Baein.

He ran hard, trying to escape; he ran all the way to Dragonhome, where the nightmares never happened. When he arrived there, he arrived with a downpour. Getting turned around he found an abandoned den. There were runes arched around the entrance, not understanding the runes, he made his way deeper into the empty lair and crashed in the old bedding.

As he drifted to sleep, he thought he heard the echo laughter of many hatchlings, the grumble of an imperial as it chastised another warrior for being idiotic in his endeavors to become the greatest hunter and the buoyant reply the dragon had made. A happy lair, he thought as slipped into blackness.

"Wake up!"

Razorwind snapped his head up as the deep voice slid through his sleep to wake him up. He frowned though when he saw nobody around. Yawning, he shook his head and laid his head back down, still quite tired.

As he drifted, the snarl slid through his head once again, "I said wake up!"

Blinking he looked around, and heard a soft lyrical voice chime in, "Nox, leave the poor young one alone, can't you see he's exhausted!"

Razorwind scowled and looked in the corners of the cave he could see, but no silhouettes of dragons could be seen in the darkness. "I'm awake, where are you?" he called out as he got up out of the nest.

"There see, persistence pays off. He's the first dragon to enter our lair for the past decade. I didn't want the chance to pass up!"

Chills ran up and down his spine and he felt his scales sticking up as fear slithered into his mind. "I'm sorry for intruding..." he started to say.

There was a hiss of outrage as many dragons answered, but it was the lyrical voice that answered, "Never be sorry. This lair has always welcomed anybody. We're just in a bind..." there was a pause and felt many eyes on him even though there was nobody around.

"Could he help?"

"It's our only chance!"

"It's his own business!"

"Well if someone had not locked us here, none of this would be up for discussion!" a snarl came.

"Yes, it's my fault! I've admitted this, and in the end I was put into the same place, now get off of my back. Listening to your griping for the past decade has been enough punishment as it is!"

"You won't be getting off that easily Cain!" was the deep grumble that had woken him up in the first place, Nox, Razorwind thought that was his name.

"Okay enough! You're making him confused! Let me explain and the rest of you shut your mouths!" cried another voice, soft but just as deep as Nox's voice.

"Please Avere," the lyrical one said.

There was silence, as the voiced dimmed down then altogether stopped. Razorwind thought he was imagining it all, that sleep had finally made him go crazy, but then Avere's voice interrupted his thoughts, "Come to the back of the cave, young mirror."

Razorwind stared into the dark and then glanced back at the light outside the cave. He didn't want to go any deeper into the cave, not when there was disembodied voiced all around. This den was haunted, there was nothing else to it.

He heard Avere chuckle and suddenly a torch that had been hanging on the wall burst into flames to throw in more light, "Thank you Morrigan," Avere said.

"It's not a problem Avere," the lyrical voice said before going silent.

"Come young one, I want you to see what has happened to this once mighty lair. And I hope you will choose to help, but it is your decision."

Razorwind's curiosity got the better of him and taking the torch, he made his way deeper into the den. When he got to the back, he gasped for the wall and floor were swirled into different colors. As if someone painted it with many dragons in mind. In the wall was a small niche that held an Earshaker Idol. Cobwebs were scattered around it and he wondered what it's purpose was.

"Over here young one," Avere said, and Razorwind felt his head turn to the rest of the wall where a pair of ice eyes stared at him. There was no body but Razorwind felt hypnotized by the eyes that stared out from the wall.

Images blasted through his mind as Avere and him connected. He saw Zmeya being brought into the lair. How she manipulated Cain into thinking the leaders were wrongly leading the clan and every dragon within were doomed. How Zmeya had bided her time while Cain twisted his healer magic to become stronger. He watched as Zmeya ordered Cain to imprison the dragons of Novaryn into the rock where they will never be able to interfere again. Then Zmeya took the remaining dragons to the Shifting Expanse where they were forced to work under the Stormcatcher. No freedom and lots of electrocutions especially to the water dragons under Zmeya. Razorwind felt relief when he watched Cain piece things together and finally find the courage to kill Zmeya. How the other dragons tried to kill him for believing him to be a traitor. Then watched as Cain came back to try to release his lair only to end up within the walls as well.

Razorwind blinked open his eyes and stared at the wall and floor. He knew all the dragons within. Their lives, their loves, their trials, he knew it all. "W-what would you have me do?"

"Find a way to release us!" cried Yin, a fairly brusque female.

"Yin, you know he's not a great magi to be able to do this," chastised Yin's sister, Yang.

"But-" Yin started to argue.

But Nox interrupted, frustration edging his voice, "Yang is right, this dragon is a young mirror. He won't be able to help us!"

Morrigan snorted and he felt her silence everyone, "Enough, he may not be able to help us get out of here but that doesn't mean he can't help us another way!"

"Quite right Morrigan," Avere stated and Razorwind could feel his amusement, "Razorwind," the mirror flinched as they used his name, "Would you be willing to carry around the Earthshaker Idol while you travel. You see, all our souls are stuck within that doll, so if you could carry it around, we'd be able to find a stronger magic to release us from this accursed rock."

"I-I don't know. I'm not sure I want to get into this kind of journey," he gulped just thinking about what his adoptive family would say.

"Razorwind don't think of it as a burden, but as a blessing. Many of us have warrior experience and are battle trained. When you're up against opponents let us give you our experience. Morrigan can help heal your mind from your nightmares. If you noticed, you had a peaceful sleep while within our lair. Think of that every night. And in return you travel around so we can seek out the help of another dragon or dragons to help us escape this tomb!" Phase said and he felt her glitch to another section of the rock.

Razorwind thought about the pros and cons but he felt that it was the right thing to do in helping these dragons, "Alright, I'll help. Where did you want the journey to begin?"

There was a cheer all around him as he took the idol off the ledge. He could feel each and every dragon that was stuck within the doll. He could feel their strength and felt it enter into his body to become his own. As he left den, his heart felt like it was full of hope and courage.
