Clio

In the corner of the library, you find a young, crystal-scaled imperial dragon, engrossed in an ancient-looking tome almost as big as she is. She offers you a toothy, cheerful smile as you approach. "Hi there! I'm Clio! You don't look like you're from this clan, though I could be mistaken since I just got here recently. I'm originally from Clan NomadNerd, an ally of Clan Phantom's in the Starfall Isles. I came here on a research mission." Her ears perk up and she begins to gesture animatedly as she describes her studies. "You see, there was a big surge of magic a while back, so big that it made the crystal mountains grow almost a hundred feet within the span of a few minutes! Fascinating! My clan is among the many studying the magic surges, and they sent me here to investigate possible changes to the shadow lands (after I begged and pleaded, of course). I'm to monitor magic levels and study the magical development of individuals with unusual eye coloration, which are caused by the magic surges. So far only Iris, Cinder, and Kuril carry these traits. Iris doesn't seem to have developed any unusual abilities, but Cinder and Kuril are so young we can't even tell! The possibilities are endless! Skylark is my mentor here, she's teaching me lots of things and helping me set up my instruments and record readings..." Clio continues to chatter to herself about her research project, even after you begin to slowly walk away.

~The Researcher~
Clio was born in Clan NomadNerd, an arcane ally of Clan Phantom situated in the Starwood strand. Her birth followed the Great Surge, and though her eyes failed to display any signs of deviation, she was fascinated by the effects of the magical fluctuations from a young age. Her parents fueled her thirst for knowledge with piles of books and scrolls, and she devoured every last bit of knowledge.
In her juvenile years, Clio expressed her desire to study the effects of the Great Surge first-hand. She had gathered all the data should could from her clanmates ( her brother Tibernius in particular was tired of having his eyes examined), and she was interested in the effects the Great Surge had had on other elemental zones. After talking it over for some time and making a few arrangements, her parents agreed to send her to Clan Phantom, who had agreed to take her on as a research assistant to their own scientists.
Clio arrived in Clan Phantom bursting with curiosity and questions, and she was promptly assigned to assist Skylark, who was also studying the Great Surge (among many, many other things). She has served as Skylark's faithful co-researcher ever since.
Clio is a bright and chipper young dragon who loves nothing more than to talk about her research, and the new things she's learned, and her theories, etc... Nothing seems to put a dent in her good mood. She and Skylark have been studying Iris, Cinder, and Kuril in particular, since they have deviant eye colors, and Clio has proved to be quite good at keeping the rather young Cinder and Kuril entertained during examinations.
