Biography
This dragon is the result of a breeding project to create the first Peridot / Moon / Obsidian on the site, and will also be a gene project. Jaguar (gifted by PaperWitch!)/ Trail / undecided tertiary gene.
Lunar and Astera were inexperienced parents, and left their nest unguarded. Upon returning from gathering, they once found their nest invaded by plague rats. Hatching day was close, so they kept incubating the eggs and hoped for the best. Bit by bit, their brilliant hides faded and shriveled.
Only one egg hatched in the end, and she was a beauty without compare. Luminescent was named for the sparkling crystal hide with which she was born, but soon after birth the scales started flaking off like diamond dust. The distraught parents gave their two stillborn eggs names and a hasty burial, far apart as they may have been imperials, and then set off to the nearest healer's cove; Crystal Springs.
After a day and night on the wing, Lunar could fly no more. For the first time since their betrothal, he and Astera parted ways. They both knew this was the end, but if their one and only daughter was to make it, there was no other way. Astera, her mighty wingspan now dry and cracking, painfully took to the air with her limp daughter clinging to her mane. Dark blotches now marred Luminescent's once radiant body, and her wings had lost their butterfly-like elegance.
By the time they crashed into the healer's territory, neither of them were fully conscious. The hatchling was the lone survivor, and only thanks to the experience and innate knowledge of a Plague healer by the name of Courageous. Luminescent has no memory of her time before the Crystal Springs clan, but the healers heard her mother's whispered warning; Plague rats.
So far, no rats have been spotted in the clan's waters. But if the disease can spread to other creatures, things might get real dangerous real soon.
