Pierre

A large Guardian dragon with a tendency to pace back and forth while speaking. Both Pierre's mother and his father were adopted into the clan, with his father Akehu joining later. He has a half brother named Neilson, who holds a misplaced grudge against Pierre for reasons unknown to him. Despite this, they grew up as close friends. Now older and wiser, the two think of themselves as having gone separate ways in life. In reality, they are not as different from one another as they might believe.
Charge: Insuring the safety of those around him, even if he doesn't even know them.
In his younger years, Pierre read old tomes and scrolls with Neilson. His half brother wanted to study the contents of these relics, dreaming of uncovering a hidden truth. Pierre on the other hand was more interested in the physical properties of these things. He was fascinated by the intricacies of written language, the practice of keeping oral history and how stories change over time, and even the structural integrity of parchment and stone. He dedicated himself to researching languages and architecture, he used to say he was a jack of all trades.
Pierre is no longer the same dragon he was many years ago. Tragedy befell him and his mate when the roof of the den caved in. Half of his eggs were crushed beneath the rubble before they were ready to hatch. Pierre was inconsolable, and in his grief retreated into isolation. He was wracked with guilt, insisting that it was his fault as the aspiring architect of the clan for the den caving in. He and his mate Malbi separated long ago, and though Pierre is at peace with the loss of his unborn children, they rarely talk. Malbi doesn't blame him for the tragedy, but was unable to help him in his darkest times.
Two of Pierre's children survived, Knight and Toxi. Pierre found himself stuck between being an absent parent, so afraid of becoming attached to children that he could loose, and being overprotective of the ones he still has left. As a result, he looks like a jerk. The hatchlings and younger dragons of the clan regard him as grumpy and strict. Paranoid would be a better word. He doesn't mean to upset the little ones when he yells at them to stay away from certain mundane places and activities, he only wants three best for them.
Pierre found a bee mate in Mia years later, and they had a daughter named Oculus. He is still not sure how to go about being involved in the life of his children. His eldest son Knight never wanted to talk to him in the first place, and Toxi was serving the Lightweaver. Oculus is his pride and joy even though he doesn't show it. She is incredibly intelligent, and is still so young. Deep down, it warms Pierre's heart how Oculus wants to follow her family in the pursuit of knowledge. She follows around Riftwalker, the son of Neilson, asking questions. Perhaps the sight reminds Pierre of himself.
