Biography
"Tell me more of this 'raffle' you are so passionate about," said the Bogsneak. He had been speaking to this strange not-quite-spiral for quite some time now, ever since he had smelled her tromping through his territory, trying to sell tickets to everything from the local bat colonies to the brambles. To be fair, though, the one that others called Stigmata thought to himself, the brambles are more clever than many I know.
Curious, he stepped out of the shadows. Curiouser, the strange not-quite-spiral did not recoil in horror at his stepping from the shadows as if he'd been part of them, or seeing the darkness oozing from his eyes, a sign of the Shadowbinder's favor.
"Yes, you give me things in exchange for these tickets!" chattered the not-quite-spiral, holding up a cluster of brightly colored slips of paper. "These give you a chance to win a great prize! Something special!"
"But what kind of prize?" He replied, stomping toward the clan's meeting grounds, trusting that her passion would keep her close by. Either this would be entertainment for all, or enough to feed quite a few of the others. A win-win.
"The best kind! A Sur-prise!" she replied, laughing brightly as she waved the tickets. "If you want, you can even buy some tickets to give to friends, so that they may share in the joy as well!"
"Oh, yes, you shall meet friends, and perhaps they will wish to buy some too," he replied. The brambles closed behind them, obscuring the path back. A more observant dragon might have noticed this. "When will we know who has won the prize?"
She spread out her hands, her two functional wings flapping and carrying her along. "As soon as the raffle is over!" she said confidently. The other wings were made of a strange, flexible material made to resemble a Spiral's many pairs.
His laugh came low and breathy. "Oh?" he said. "Then I must certainly make sure you are able to complete the raffle." She is certainly amusing enough to share with the others. "Who are you, may I ask?"
"My name is Squaresy, of the Raffle Roulette!" she proclaimed, tipping her hat. A few of the tickets fluttered to the ground. Nobody paid them any mind. "Not like that imposter you may have heard of, I am the real master of the Raffle!"
