Biography
Chives
Chives smile illuminates the small wooden room around him. He lay in a dense heap on Dimetri's foot. Joy radiates from his small figure, and the colors of his scales are matte sandalwood and green. Tattered clothing hangs off of his neck and waist, so beloved and ragged that it has become translucent. All of him feels warm, like hot green tea on a spring morning. His green eyes wander from your head to toe, and you feel his observant mind crawling all over you. There's some sort of fire in those small, kindred eyes. Sometimes it's hard to believe such a gentle creature would love to battle. Other times, it's hard to believe he could ever be gentle at all.
That's how you come to find that he is Dimetri's perfect balance; he aligns with her introverted and stoic nature while balancing her coldness. He radiates love into what would be a closed-off heart. Dimetri looks at peace as her golden-green eyes rest on her husband. He is everything she isn't in the most perfect way.
Chives doesn't battle as much as he used to. When Dimetri began to further her training, she was often anxious over who might care for the children if they were ever to both fall in battle. Chives knew that this was the softest place in her heart, and that he must find a way to comfort her. He offered to stay home more often, to tend to her wounds and keep the children in line. He fights sometimes, but only when necessary; and only alone. Solitude is his greatest pleasure. His intelligence causes his mind to be constantly clouded with great adventures and experiments. Dimetri can only pray that her children will grow to be as imaginative as him. One always wishes that they saw the world through the same radiant beam of light as he does.
