Eldest of Grevillea and Hypatia. She is considered to be the most gifted poet in the Clan -- despite only writing for the pleasure of her mother. Ranpu much prefers writing lurid tales of horrific situations involving only the most frightening of monsters. The stories are grotesque in detail, and always published under the penname "Miss Gennevueax Canne". Her works include The Vacant Chair Upstairs, Nagod, Young Insects, She, and The Lighter of Forest Fires.

There was a brief legal battle regarding Young Insects, in which parents from Clan Diima accused "Miss Canne" of corrupting the youth through falsely advertising the novel for hatchlings. Ranpu's representatives argued on her behalf that "the inclusion of young in a title does not denote the intended audience, and the fact the cover depicted a beheaded Spiral with centipedes insinuated throughout should have clued attentive parents in that this was no bedtime story". Ranpu worked very hard to prevent "Canne" v Sono from becoming mainstream to better hide her identity from her family.
