Biography
Hatchling Snippet: One of the first twins born to Hecate and Phobetor, Phobia takes after her father in several respects. Namely in her connection to people’s nightmares. By looking at a person she can tell what they fear, and why they fear it, divining strange things about them, though only through the avenue of her fear. The only ones her gift won’t work on are her father and her brother. As a hatchling she has showed an eerie understanding of Deimos, who is mute as his father was at his age, but shows no signs of growing out of it, and a curiosity about the nocturne Noctis -- who has strangely gifted sight as well. Snapshot: While the twins have very separate identities and desires, in many ways they function as a single unit, and have never stopped doing so. The leader between them that can see fear and act on it, and the mute and observant one that can press fear upon their adversaries. Phobia has a taste for sweet things, Deimos for sour, and while they could have easily pursued careers and uses of their gift much like their parents, instead they turned them towards negotiation. Both of them are poised, with immaculate training from elder members of the clan. Background: The first scions of the oneiroi family in this generation, the twins were born once their parents joined Phantasos in the Frostfound clan and were raised up in it. As soon as they left Vivid’s classes as children they began to study under Cygnus the quartermaster, and both Mnemosyne and her mate Gentle. From them they learned how money worked, the structure of economies, how to negotiate and deal, and also how to mirror the behavior of others. While the sight was humorous when they were young, the two ambitious dragons studied the clan Memory’s knack for mirroring behavior and learned to imitate posture, study speech patterns, so they could fit in with other clans, so they could speak and interact. So they, together, could be the clan’s voice and hands, merchants and ambassadors to others. With the clan’s recent move into the Walking Glacier, they’ve begun venturing out frequently, gathering resources and smoothing the clan’s way. Goals: Do their family proud, find new ways to use their power that diverge from their father’s path, place a member of the Oneiroi on the Council of the Wise. |
