"HOLD STEADY!" the Skydancer cried, her steel claws leaving scratches in the wood of the airship's wheel as she gripped it tightly.

"The wind is too strong, Captain! We're not going to make it!" someone yelled from the rigging. The storm was tearing at their sails and balloons, rain pummelling from the darkened skies to soak wood, hair, feather, and garment alike in large droplets that stung against her hide with their force.

"Yes we are!" she roared in defiance, forcing the wheel further to the side. "Secure your tethers and hold on tight!"

Her crew scrambled to obey, coiling ropes around their middles and tightening the knots as hard as they could.

"Hard to port!" she demanded, her first-mate gaping at her from the deck below.

"Captain, that'll take us right into the heart of it!"

"HARD TO PORT!" she repeated, teeth gritted in determination. "We're riding the central wind current out!"
