Tigrina's ancestors migrated from Lightning to Light to double down on their studies of the past. Tigrina herself was a shining Light child, excelling at anything she put her mind or claws to. However, her interests did not tend toward academia, but martial skill. She thrives on competition and challenge, and even if she loses she will be found grinning through her new scars. And such contests as she desired could not be found in the daylight. So Tigrina took her leave - her family was sad to see her go, sadder still to see which direction she headed toward, but she had always been headstrong.

Tigrina took to the dark, where her silver scales glinted but dully in the half-light at sunset, where she moved as mist through the shade, hunting whatever pleased her. She befriended a Dire Hyena, "Blue" of the Bone Pack, and gifted her small artifacts of bone and claw and hide. She took upon herself the mantle of a grey wolf, and they moved through the trees as consummate predators. So did Tangle and Smoke find her - lording over a fresh elk kill, wild-hearted but never having forgotten her myriad of other, more civilized skills. Tigrina is most pleased to be appreciated so for her abilities and competence, and ever willing to display her battle prowess whenever called upon, whether in friendly competition, training, or to defend against legitimate threats to her Clan.

Though others may stereotype Ethlaine as a passive, motherly personality, Tigrina senses in her the depth of her maternal fury. It is not that the Pearlcatcher despises conflict, not at all, it is that she has decided that the Clan will endure, and will do anything necessary to keep that the truth. She also has the ability to talk Tigrina down when necessary, and provides her a safe, peaceful center to orient around, someone to defend not because she is weak but because she is pleased to be protected.
