Biography

Seledaesia had never been the most healthy of chicks. She had been found within the tall grasses of the Zephyr Steppes, cold and hungry and injured. No one knew for certain how long the young child had been there, plaintively chirping with the thin hope that someone would hear her above the winds, and that they would be the sort to nurture and care for broken things.

She was lucky that she was found before the elements could have their way with her, or before a vengeful beastclan could kill her before she became a potential threat to their kind. Recovery had taken time. Her health and strength slowly came back to her, but she had been left weaker than others her age, more sickly and prone to tiring. Her wing eventually healed, but it had been left weaker than the other wing, eventually proving to be unable to carry her for long distances.

Nadean, despite all these setbacks that Seledaesia's health had, never wavered from her position as the Skydancer's main caretaker. Days where Seledaesia felt she was more of a burden than something worthy of caring for, Nadean was quick to prevent those thoughts from spiraling further when she noticed. When Seledaesia felt shame for being unable to help her clan with more physical labors or when she couldn't play with the other children for as long as she'd like to, Nadean directed her attention to quieter things, things that the clan needed written down or games that needed more brain than brawn.

Eventually Seledaesia grew from an unsure hatchling to the sure-footed Skydancer that can be seen today. Her calling was clear: if she couldn't serve as a gatherer, or a warrior, or any of the other things where physical power was required, she could become a scribe for the clan, keeping note of how full the stores of food were and important events that future generations would need to remember. She read and wrote nearly all hours of the day, occasionally forgetting that her body required just as much care as her mind. She could hardly afford to starve, dehydrate and deprive her body of sleep, but when the work needed to be finished, these were the things she had to pay. Well-meaning friends will often ask her to take more frequent breaks before she fall ill, but Seledaesia will always wave their concerns away in favor of finally being useful to her clan. And there she remains until someone forcefully drags her from her work to take a break and see the sun at least once that day, most likely Nadean or another larger friend of hers.
