A small dragon with a truly ferocious soul, Ailsa is the living breath and guiding will of her clan, making the political decisions her mate isn't mentally healthy enough to. Ruling over Emery Island with an iron claw, she is the first to lead the island's residents into battle during times of war, and there isn't a dragon under her authority that dares to question her judgement. Past traumas and times of pain have steeled her against hardship and made her a tough cookie, although she is sure never to take things too far.
Heart of Becalmed Rage
In private and with loved ones, however, she can be surprisingly tender and sweet, and her children at least see her more as loving mother then demanding task master. She has been, and probably always will be, the only dragon capable of piercing through the haze of Douglas's thoughts, and the two of them have always been able to communicate with surprising ease. In the past, her habit of pushing the envelope almost drove her family apart, something she vowed never to let it happen again. Although still a great warrior with a fighter's heart, she has promised only to fight for worthy causes, and to protect the safety of her family. Brave and indomitable, she watches over her domain, giving a sense of ease to the inhabitants of Emery Island.
