Biography

Serena is the clan's unofficial founder and matriarch, and considers the entire clan her "Charge".

On Clan Origins
As guardians are wont to do, she left her birth clan to seek her Charge. As she traveled, she came across a young mirror, Shade, and a young fae, Seina, accompanied by two fae hatchlings. All of them appeared dirty, tired, and half starved. Taking pity on them, Serena hunted down a large boar and they shared a meal and their story.

Serena would learn that despite the hatchlings calling Seina and Shade "mom and dad", they were not actually mates. Rather, the two had rescued themselves (and a pair of eggs) from a group of kidnappers. Lost and separated from their respective clans, uncertain if they were hunted by the kidnappers, they elected to stay together.

Hearing their tale, Serena felt at first pity, and then a surge of warm protectiveness within her. These dragons needed her, and she would take care of them. And thus, they all set out together for a place to call home. In time, the little group would be joined by another escaped fae and a young pearlcatcher simply looking for a place to call home. Eventually, this group found themselves in a cave on the Zephyr Steppes, and together decided to turn said cave into their Den.

Since that time, other dragons have come. Some were only passing through. Others opted to stay more permanently. All became family, and Serena protected them fiercely for as long as they elected to stay. And for those that left, they knew they could always call on her to help. It wasn't always easy; there have been attacks by the same group that kidnapped Shade and Seina. But there was good too. Serena fell in love with Shade and had hatchlings of her own with him. The clan has been growing, and the sounds of hatchlings echo within the den. Former residents drop by for visits, and alliances between clans have been forged from these bonds. And throughout it all, Serena has taken care of the clan. HER clan. In them, she had found her Charge.
