Asteria looks up at the stars and reads between the lines of the constellations. She dreams of what has been and what will be, weaving the tangled skeins of prophecy.

She is a daughter of the old gods, of the ancient ages, almost forgotten and happy to live in the dusk of civilization's myths. Her followers are few and far between, and Asteria's ways are inscrutable, but those in her favor are granted the far sight of prophecy and the inner sight of dreams.

She had long passed out of even the oldest legends, unknown to all but the wisest oracles, but in the new age her bright beauty caught the eye of Zeus. She transformed herself into a humble quail and fled to the sea, desperate to avoid the eyes and endless memory of myth.
