Her egg was created by a mad scientist at the request of his low ranking clan in order to exalt her and bring glory to the hottest deity around and possibly find enough favor to move their camp to a better and more protected location. But when he saw her after she hatched, he couldn't bring himself to do it for she looked too much like his water flight mate who had died when their clan was raided.

When the time came for her to be handed over to the clan leaders to then be taken to the deity, he lied, telling them that the egg had spoiled. While the clan was figuring out how to raise their status, he gave her new genes, and changed her from the soft fluffy tundra she had hatched as to a sleek spiral. Along with these changes, he transformed her eyes from their original soft amber glow into a swirling red and yellow, not much different from a swirling lava-pool. All this effort was spent so that if her clan mates should happen to see her, they wouldn't instantly know that he had lied.

Once her transformation was complete, he took the hatchling and put her in a crate with a few days worth of food and water, and had the clan's messenger dragon deliver the package to the farthest clan from theirs. To prevent questions from being asked, he labeled said package as "Glow Worm Mix/Fertilizer/Fecal Matter". The messenger dragon was obviously perturbed by this strange request, but was told by the scientist that it was an attempt at starting an alliance with the clan. While the scientist thought it was a flimsy excuse, the messenger dismissed it as being caused by the scientists lack of sanity.

The messenger had just arrived at the clans entrance when the package suddenly began to squeak and squall. He wanted to go back, to shove the package back in the scientists claws, and to tell his leaders what had happened. But, unfortunately, it was far too late for that. He could hear the sounds of the clans guardians approaching, so he placed the crate on the ground and popped the door open. He then flew off as fast as his wings could carry him, not bothering to glance back.
