It was a bad combination of magic.

His is much too unstable and has cursed him, hers cannot sustain him the way she wanted. For what hatched from the eggs can only be called cursed. Boney protrusions over their skin left them sickly. The magic that seeps from them leaves them weak and makes the bones grow in all sorts of ways it should not.

Their mother's greed has left no regard for their lives.

Dahk tries to care for his children the best that he can. To help soothe the pain and to make them the most comfortable he can. He teaches them how to get a grasp on the magic the seep so they can get along in life.

It is Belial that takes the children and casts them away. Far out into the wasteland she takes them and leaves them there. They're much to weak for her, and for that she sees that they should cease to be.
