Biography

The third addition to their clan, Pyre, was found by Cirrus.

Looking after two hatchlings was hard work, and she needed a break sometimes. She ventured out along the river, following it to the sea. She stood there for a long time, watching the sea going in and out. It was nice, to watch it bring things in and send them out again.

A scuffling to her left brought her to her senses, where she saw a young dragon digging around in the silty muck. She looked at them, and they looked back at her, with eyes of firey red.
What was a fire flight dragon doing here, rooting in the muck of the shadowbinder's domain?

She watched them, and they watched her. She asked them what they were doing here, and where their parents were. They simply stared at her in response. This silent exchange lasted a few minutes, before she turned back to the sea.
Another hour passed, and then she started to walk back home.

After a few minutes of walking, she stopped and turned around, feeling eyes upon her back.
It was the fire hatchling, stood a few metres back. They stopped walking when she did, and stared at her.

She started walking again. When she was in sight of her dam, she stopped and turned around again.

Two red eyes still stared back at her. Hours of walking, in silence, making her indifference clear, and they'd still followed her all the way home.

She sighed, and shook her head. Two sudden hatchlings, now a third was here. She'd just found a mate and made a comfortable roost, and now she was some kind of orphanage? Where were they even coming from? She'd thought maybe it was just Kalen being some kind of magnet for waifs and strays, but no, this one was on her. She'd never had problems like this before.

...Though, there was plentiful food here, and more than enough logs and sap to make the dam larger. The little hatchlings were only children, yet already much bigger and stronger than her. She could use more strength. Her was amazingly industrious and loyal. Perhaps, with a good example like him, and a good teacher like her, they might grow to be quite agreeable dragons. Perhaps they would even be as helpful as Kalen, if not more.

Hm.

She raised her frills in a warm, friendly guesture that the silent hatchling would soon come to know, and lead them inside.
She never told them her name, or how she had gotten there. She never said anything at all, actually. But, that was okay. Neither Kalen nor Cirrus were talkative people. They gave her the name "Pyre" so that they would have something to call her, and set about making even more space in their home.

Pyre has never verbally spoken a word since Cirrus found her, but this hasn't caused her any problems; most of the clan's communication between one another is through body language, and Cirrus and Kalen have taught her their language of frills and wings. Though her frills are nowhere near as mobile as Cirrus', she's much better at it than Kalen is.

She also tends to supplement this with written notes; she has a frame of dark hardwood covered in a layer of soft yellow wax that she scrapes back with a small shard of bone to carve out words and symbols, smoothing the wax back into place to rub out her work and write something new.
She does keep parchment and quills with her, but her wax tablet is versatile and reusable.

Personality wise, she's a reasonably friendly dragon. She doesn't relish crowds like Intermezzo and Nightshade, but she does like company and having people to talk and listen to.

She loves a good story or three, and is more than happy to trade drawings for words given your tale is engaging enough... Or just to swap stories for her own stories, or those she's heard. She has a lot of information stored away in that mind of hers, useful things gleaned from the stories she's read and been told and she's very useful to the clan because of this. Information is a commodity as valuable as any other.

Exalting Pyre to the service of the Shadowbinder will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
