Ember

Ember didn't know that the plauge could strike so quickly. One moment, Feather was helping Ember bury their brother Periwinkle, and the next, he was writhing on the floor of their hut. Now, Feather was breathing very softly, while Ember stood over him in a desprate attempt to keep him alive. Merry was out gathering possible herbs to cure him, and Ember knew in his heart that it would be too late.
"E-Ember?" the faintest whisper.
"Oh my god! Feather! How do you feel?"
"Weird, like I'm floating away."
"Just stay awake until Merry gets back, okay? Can you do that?"
Feather shrugged, and sighed, leaning into the moss Ember had gathered, "So comfy"
Ember was close to hesterics at this point and went to his last resort, "Mom's coming!" Feather looked at him, "Dad's with her, they heard about you and wanted to come and see you."
"Hey Ember?"
"Yes"
" Do you see Sandstorm?"
"Feather, he's dead too."
"Then why is he behind you, with Hollows?"
Ember turned around, but didn't see anything. When he turned back Feather was staring at him.
"Feather?"
"See- you- later-Ember" He gasped, before falling back onto the moss bed.
"NO!" Ember leaped forward and looked at his brother in shock and horror. His eyes were going cold, as if someone was sliding frost all over it. A raspy cough escaped Feather's mouth, and fell still.
