Don’t ask me where I came from, because I couldn’t tell you. My earliest memory is waking up blanketed in the dense foliage of what I soon learned was the Shrieking Wilds. I was alone and surrounded by nothing but the unforgiving darkness of the trees, and my mind was empty. For several days I wandered aimlessly in what seemed like a never ending forest. The darkness was unrelenting, and I was lost. I quickly gathered that I was on my own. No one was looking out for me, and I had no one to rely on. Things changed when I met Altairyn. I had come across several clans as I wandered through the forest, but I had never met anyone like Altairyn. He too was a traveler, and although he was much more experienced than me he was equally as lonely. We quickly fell for each other, and before I knew it we were partners. I wasn’t lost anymore, and I soon became comfortable and even confident in my surroundings with him by my side. My priorities also changed. I was no longer trying to unlock the secrets of my past, and I wasn’t struggling to merely survive. Instead I began to wonder if there was anyone else who was lost. Altairyn and I decided that we would make it our goal to find other lost dragons and to give them that someone that they could trust. Almost like fate these lost dragons began to find us. We became leaders, and before we knew it we had a clan of our own. We stationed ourselves nearby the Everbloom Gardens overlooking Shadow and Earth. As our clan continued to grow I began to feel restless. Nature never fully felt like home to me, but it was all I had ever known. Of course I was extremely well traveled, but I was growing tired of coming back to the Viridian Labyrinth at the end of each journey. I brought forth my concerns to Altairyn, and he confessed to me that he felt as if we were no longer in the right place. We never truly belonged to the Gladekeeper, and in order to fulfill our goals we needed a place that everyone felt like they could belong. Wind was the clear choice for us. Altairyn drove this decision, but everything about Wind was perfect, and the Windsinger was calling us. We uprooted our clan and took the journey to the Windswept Plateau, where we now reside. We now live nearby a lovely lake overlooking the Singer’s Brook, and I couldn’t be happier. So, if you find yourself wandering around Sornieth without a place to call home remember this, those who are lost can always be found. |
