Archangel has a good heart, although his Defender attitude sometimes gets in the way of that. At first, he can seem callous and sarcastically indifferent, but as he becomes familiar with some dragon, he will begin to trust and respect them. He is courageous, determined, passionate, and possesses exceptional strength of character. In his own words, "I can pass any test an Imperial can pass". He later also proves that he can pass any test any Dragon can pass.

Archangel initially has very little knowledge on Hypnotic and how he runs his Clan. However, he is a fast learner and quickly adapts to the Clan way of life, becoming a member of the Black Shamrock clan in only three months. Though he will note that with the Defenders, it is "learn fast or die", he relishes the challenges they provides him with and refuses to give up on them no matter how hard they are.

Over time, Archangel really begins to care about nature, the Clan way of life and the amount of freedom that is given. When his mentor, Narem was injured by another dragon from a rival Clan during the team's daily patrol routine, Archangel does everything he can to ensure that she doesn't die. However, when Narem succumbs to her wound and dies, he feels pain and sorrow, but uses these emotions to solidify his determination to stop any rival Clan they face that wishes them harm.
