Biography
"[ ... ] The Blue-Boned had long been a fixture & player in several of the Eventide's mythos, so much that I was at once struck with a great sense of awe & unease alike at being confronted with a legend's living form. Once I had shaken the paralysis that the revelation of her identity provided, I set about asking casually the question that was the most long puzzled & disputed about her (for those qualities were in great supply with all information one might happenstance hear or, through great pains and efforts, research; one might recall my fascination with the canon at large began on account of the various conflicts between the content of each tale): "Through what cause began your servitude in the name of the Lady Eventide?" & the Blue-Boned bubbled & chuffed with her mirth, as though I had asked her something quite amusing indeed. "Every night, while my mother scryed the reflection of the stars in the waters, I would run my claws through the shallow water kelps & measure my jaws against the lily pads to see how I might swallow & better play with them... My mother was a fortune teller of great renown; & she told my siblings & I tales of those with gentle hearts & gentle ambitions whose powers matched her own in breadth, but not in manifestation. It was in this way that I came to learn of the Bloomborn, & with each arrival & departure of the moon's face, my desire to meet her grew. My mother spent all her time with her eyes trained on the skies out of reach & her claws cupping the water that could never be held...I longed for the tangibility & fallibility of greens, unfixed & imperfect & wild. I could never be shaped as my mother & siblings were, & they knew this; thus when I asked to seek her out, my mother permissed it, & off seeking I went to the groves that the Bloomborn shed in her travels, intending always to join with her & be taken on as her charge [ ... ]"
