....

Quaisoir grew up in space. Where exactly, she couldn't say, or wouldn't say perhaps, but it was far above the planet of Sornieth. On some distant rock-covered planet, Quaisoir's first memories were of digging. Digging up, to be precise.

She started life with a cylindrical worm-like physique and small claws which she used to dig through the semi-soft clay and onto the surface of that round sphere, perhaps an asteroid or comet she was on. There were a few other beings such as herself that she could see in the distance, but she felt no need to make contact with them. Why she even started to claw her way up in the first place, she had no recollection, probably something instinctual.

Quaisoir then began to crawl across the rocky sphere. There was no rhyme or reason to her paths and she would keep crawling along till she grew tired, upon which she would curl up into a ball and rest. Time was irrelevant in space and she had no sense of day with the ever present blackness.

Occasionally, she would see a small insect-like creature and would grab it with her tiny claws and then eat it. She never felt hunger pains, and was unclear whether she needed to eat at all to survive.

After one particularly large bug meal, she found she grew immediately tired. So zapped of energy that she lay stretched out and fell comatose. When she awoke, she felt different. She quickly realized she was encased in some sort of cocoon.

Using much larger claws, she tore herself out of the hard casing and looking down upon herself, she realized she was not the same shape that she used to be. Gone were her tiny legs and much larger ones were replaced. She noticed the ground was not so close anymore, which therefore meant her head was elevated and she had a neck. She felt much more powerful, more agile.

The section of comet she was walking on broke away and began to move towards Sorneith. It picked up speed and she found herself holding on as it accelerated towards Sorneith's atmosphere. She was able to claw her way into the comet just as it hit the ozone and the surface began to catch fire. Looser pieces of rock flew off and the comet finally landed with a great wave and sizzle straight into the Sea of a Thousand Currents.

There was a huge crack as the wreckage from the comet dispersed and threw marine dust as it fell apart on the sea's floor. Quaisoir crawled out of the wreck and couldn't breathe but that wasn't really an issue as there was no oxygen on her comet, so it didn't phase her. As she began to paddle her way around her, some strange dragons saw her and looked quite perplexed at seeing her.

Quaisoir with nothing better to do, followed them back to the lair, and she's remained with the clan ever since although no one knows quite why. She began to learn to talk some of the dragon languages, but never felt fluent in any of them. No one knows her whole story except herself, and even she is unsure of how she came into being or why. Sometimes her expertise is needed concerning space, and she happily obliges.
