It was no secret from the begining that Mitternacht was not supposed to become on of Crows children. It seems that if Volatinia not appeared, Mitternacht would have done, but seeing as how the other did appear the dragons existence to Crow is basically useless. At least it was until Cringle forcefully made him adopt the hatchling. Though he still does not love Mitternacht as much as he does Volatinia he does show the dragon love and compassion.

Possibly because of this treatment, Mitternacht is far closer to Cringle. He is like his father, kind and gentle, though is appearance can be a bit startling to those who are not familiar with him. He is well spoken and gentle in manner, though he can occasionally get a bit forceful with his points. When he gets angry he does not raise his voice, but a fearful aura surrounds him, forcing his opponent to fall silent and listen.

Mitternacht like Cringle enjoys being out in nature. Though he is a decently social dragon, he is a bit clumsy when it comes to navigating the social world. He makes many mistakes that are obvious to those around him but go over his head completely. Despite this he does have a handful of dragons he is close to. He has managed to make friends with a number of members of the circus of mirth and a few of the wanders. Crow does not approve of him socializing outside the family, but Cringle fully supports his son branching out into the world.

Mitternacht has, oddly enough, caused some bad blood between Belial and Crow. In the past the two have been relatively friendly, but the subject of Mitternacht seems to cause tension between the two, though no one really knows why. Though Mitternacht spends time with members of the Circus, he actively avoids being near their ringmaster. He seems scared of the coatl for an unknown reason.

Rona has questioned Mitternacht a few times, finding him to be far more reasonable in his answers than even Cringle. Unfortunately he has limited knowledge as to what happened, so he can only share so much with Rona. Whatever it is that he has shared Rona has not chosen to release it to the main populace as of yet, though they have mentioned that Mitternacht's statements do help cast some light on questions she had about the whole Darkwing cult ordeal

Despite being the second favorite child, Mitternacht is very close to his brother. They two spend a lot of time together, even though they share rather different morals and seem to be walking down two very different paths of life. It seems that recently they have grown obsessed with some sort of project and can often be seen far away from their parents, muttering quietly among themselves. No one is fully sure what they are up to, but whatever it is it does not strike anyone as particularly malicious. Still though certain dragons have begun to act slightly antsy. Magpie's voice occasionally wavers when she sings, while Jack actively makes sure that he stays in the public eye, not going anywhere alone. Whatever is going on, it clearly effects them.
