B I O G R A P H Y

Theme

______ Long before she can remember, Tephra awoke in a magma chamber of a volcano. She hatched with an immunity to magma and no family. She wandered and cried for days before she was found. The one that took her in is a faint memory to Tephra, fleeting. After her immunity to magma and magical talents were discovered those of the Volcanic Wastes deemed her a Goddess and placed her in a temple to praise her. As a young dragoness she was confused, but readily accepted the role. Handmaidens took care of her whims, followers accompanied her through the volcano. Alas, Tephra found herself in a gilded cage. So she left, only to be hunted down in atonement. Fearing her followers, she left the Volcanic Wastes and traveled too far south. Tephra saw snow for the first time.

______ To see something for the first time is a shock, then a wonder. It was that for Tephra, seeing snow. However, horror filled her as she felt her body starting to freeze and cool. She had spent her life in a volcano, she was not meant to see snow or feel it on her scales. A Permafrost Impaler found her, seeking a meal. It managed to freeze most of her body. As she was slipping into oblivion her opposite found her. An egg brought up in the frozen lakes of the Arctic Wastes and bound to his frigid lands. He took her to their land's boundary, where only her loyal followers dared to approach him. They promised her safe passage home.

______ The attack left Tephra with a peculiar condition. Frost coated her lungs and heart, even some of her bones. She spent more time in the volcano's chambers than her bed, trying to warm herself and finding nothing. It took weeks for the ice to melt from her bones, but some still remained. The magma keeps it at bay. Finally relenting to stay in her chamber, Tephra fell into a deep sleep as her body recovered. She awoke when the magma covering her had been moved, only to find hundreds of years had passed.
