Setsuyuukon

Light is Setsuyuukon's first memory - light, and the burning of air in her lungs, water in her mouth and sweetness on her tongue as she broke lightheaded and drowning through the surface of the Sea of Thousand Currents. The dismay from Atlantis is her second memory, upon his realisation that what he had recovered was not a tradeable statue from the abyss after all, and her third... well. They all get quite a bit mixed up after that.

But Setsuyuukon remembers none of her history, even though Light dragons do not sink into the Tidelord's sea for fun, even though drowned dragons do not live again. Even Arles, who can commiserate, does not understand the strange emptiness of her memory. It exists, Setsuyuukon knows, can feel at its edges where it drops into the abyss, yet she knows nothing of it at all.

(And yet. A reply to Anastasia itches at the corner of her mind, tantalisingly nonsensical. What has she forgotten?)
