DARE
In the beginning there was no lair, but then Dare came with her best friend, Locke, and they created the lair from nothing. Granted, it's nothing like the lair nowadays, but it was a lair nonetheless. Dare and Locke built the lair up from nothing, quickly seized the territory around said lair, and made sure everything was superb for the lair's growing numbers. Over time, however, Dare's sanity waned and though Locke tried to upkeep the lair, he was no leader. An upstart, Genesis, was quick to snag the spot, and she pushed away the dragon who had once led the lair through prosperity. Dare, while still the matriarch, was no longer in any good standing. And without proper attention, her mental health continued to deteriorate. By the time the new leadership was called into question and denounced, Dare had deteriorated from a strong leader into what Genesis had called a 'basket-case.' Dare is losing her mind, literally. It all began when she thought she was a Fae. It was that trip through her imagination that stripped her of her coherent thought processes. Unfortunately for the Coatl, her mind has lost much of its reasoning. Her incredible intelligence comes out in spurts of rambling chaos. Intelligent, yes, this matriarch knows everything that happened in this lair from even before the time of its making. She loves spewing facts at anyone and everyone who might listen. Getting the information out of her--coherently--is another matter entirely.
