Biography
» Mis Fell Mage "Imagine for me, if you would. From a young age, you are given a puzzle. It is assembled and complete. You were not needed for that part. But there are a few pieces missing. You spend untold ~ years ~ studying this puzzle. You become so intimate with what is, that you also intimately know those pieces that are gone. Their shape. Every contour of their absent form. Even the image that must be missing from them. You must. Because if you fully understand what is, truly, then you are also intimately familiar with what is without." "I spent my life studying the light. I know the meaning of the shadows." |

A powerful mage, fell weapon of the kingdom. Semiramis came to the monarchy after leaving her training and studies under the Lightweaver, hungry for something more. She knew her abandoned deity would not approve of what she'd wanted to do... what she'd done.
Commander of a powerful fleet of animated armor, she filled a void the Flickerfell Kingdom hadn't known it was missing until she'd arrived. Her soulless steel soldiers battle ruthlessly and tirelessly, driven forward by her magic as the dragon herself waits, safely enclosed (and heavily guarded) in a tower's vantage point in the castle.
The concept of soldiers that would not bleed, could not tire, and would not die, was invaluable to the kingdom. Though they frequently fought beside soldiers of flesh and bone -- those who had grown up dreaming of protecting the kingdom and who were not yet ready to be dismissed or made obsolete, even for their own safety -- on the more dangerous excursions, and when fatally powerful enemies were located in a skirmish, no allied lives needed be lost as the viciously sharp armor tore the foes limb from limb. Word spread of this dragon, dark and intimidating despite her size and frame. The color in her eyes fading as she dared lose touch with her sworn deity, her iron will and the unshaken spirit of determination with nothing left to lose painted her an imposing figure, even without the promise of the dark, gleaming armor that clanked and grinded their blade-sharp, steel joints in her shadow. Because of Semiramis, affectionately called Mis by her King and Queen, the Flickerfell had not been subject to an attack for a very, very, very long time. Some may argue that it had been too long. That, perhaps, an army needed to be kept sharp, on its toes. Some may argue, and many in the Crownsgard themselves would bitterly, remorsefully agree, that the kingdom's guard had become lax and complacent, perhaps believing themselves above attack at all. So, of course, when the attack came... they stumbled. It was not a fall, merely a stagger-step, but it was enough leeway for the encroaching band of assassins to reach a goal. They slipped past the defenses of the guards, past the gnashing jaws of the animated steel soldiers, and murdered the King before falling to the hands of Mis' peers. It was fortunate that naivete, or desperation, or fool fervor had led them to the throne room before the fell mage. They had killed the King, but the monarchy still stood in the Queen, and the defenses of the Flickerfell remained full intact.
Animation was not the only talent that Mis had promised the reigning monarchs, speaking in a cool and lyrical voice as she'd stood in the throne room before them, bidding them a place in their arsenal.
The pearl she clutched in delicate paws shimmered, iridescent and beautiful, but even further its surface seemed to ripple if one looked closely enough, distorted as though by an intense heat. She treated the wounds of the Commanders and High Soldiers, sealing the most grim of them over with reinforced, opalescent armor. When she was called to the throne room by the Queen, a room emptied of all but Her Highness herself, the cooling body of the King, and Mis, she knew exactly what she had been called to do. |
