Picture the docks over a bog. The sound of crickets and spring peepers fill the grey air, the boards creak beneath you and the dirty green water eaves over your claws with the passing of monstrous creatures just below the surface. Every inch of the cabin’s cheap wood is carved with scrawling text and bizarre symbols. As you approach it, many voices can be heard speaking in unison. Sharp and messy stabs of voices that you cannot understand. The cabin does not have a door. Above the doorway are three crescent shapes cradling each other, open to the sky like a bowl. You recognize it as the ancient rune for “truth.”

But Feldspar is not occupied with truth. He trades in fear and power, not in honesty. “Ladies and Gentlemen, what do we say to newcomers?” he would murmur, his voice thick in accent and in the guttural quality of his speech. The other dragons would turn to look at you, their eyes glazed over in hypnotic glee. “We welcome you as we welcome The Shade,” they’ll croak.

Feldspar will smirk. “Ladies and Gentlemen…” he will say, reaching behind his podium and drawing out a box built from dark wood, “It is time for us to witness a new member of our congregation.” The box will rattle and shiver and something dark will ooze out of it.

This is the last thing you will see.

Feldspar is a traveling preacher. He typically finds his home in marsh- and desert-based clans, though he has been known to settle in forests and even farmland. The clans he visits quite enjoy his company. They miss him when he leaves, although they will not be able to remember him for very long at all.
