Biography

Veertje is the oldest dragon in the clan. The first matriarch, she was tempted to follow her mate in exaltation to the Lightweaver's ranks, but as the clan still needed her, stayed. This proved to be a wise decision, as the clan was small and inexperienced after many of their older dragons left for the Lightweaver's ranks. Veertje found new joy in teaching and advising, and after a year met Ijsel, who became a dear friend to her and occasional mate.

Later, after an influx of dragons from other clans and flights, Veertje trained her successor, Zeester, and stepped down to do mercenary and exploration work, often with her oldest daughter, Maya.

When a large amount of magical anomalies occurring in hatchling eyes started appearing around Sornieth, Veertje found herself affected also, going blind in one eye.
