Casper is gentle, fatherly, and has a heart of gold. He speaks softly with low rumbles in his chest, though he (quite rarely) raises his voice and becomes quite intimidating when necessary. He's basically the kind old man feeding pigeons at the park with warm smiles and permanent laugh lines. While Casper may be a passive dragon, it is rather foolish to underestimate him. He was once a formidable member of a monster-hunting organization, specializing in tracking down malevolent ghouls trespassing into this dimension. He retired after an undiscovered species of ghoul severely damaged his limbs. Due to its powerful, unbalanced magic, Casper experienced curious side-effects. His wounds never fully healed, forcing him to carefully wrap them up at all times. And on top of that, unidentifiable gas(?) now billows about from his limbs. Extensive research and testing proved the mystery vapor to be harmless, but it does smell vaguely like black licorice. Today, Casper serves as the clan founder along with his mate, Artemis. He is extremely thankful for her, for she takes time out of her busy schedule to care for his injuries every day. While not completely immobilized, Casper does have a bit of trouble getting around sometimes. His wings are usually drooped and he walks slowly, using his magic staff from the ghoul-hunting days as an overglorified walking stick. He spends most of his time in the library, where he can rest his limbs and read the hatchlings stories or simply have quiet time for himself. Behind closed doors, though, Casper is almost always studying and researching the otherworldly magic surrounding his wounds. Despite saying that he's learned to live with his injuries, he secretly clings onto the hope that they may be cured in almost pitiful desperation. |
