Starfall and Saranus, the wildclaw and spiral parents of Tyrian, were common travellers whenever they desired to breed. Each time, they'd journey to Starfall Isles from their home in the Epidemic Empire (residing in the Scarred Wasteland), which felt more familiar and homely to the wildclaw. Once their second clutch of four eggs had hatched, they observed the markings of their new offspring - three boys, and one without a gender. The genderless, as they had noticed, was surprisingly different aside from gender.

Tyrian was born with a rare mutation - the "multi-gaze" condition, that had afflicted other dragons throughout Sornieth depending on each territory's specific quality, which in Starfall Isles happened to be the high concentration of magic. They were completely healthy otherwise, although this particular multi-gaze mutation came with a gift: the gift of clairvoyance and prophecy. Their eyes all over their body, when open, would immediately prompt their 'gifts' to show them future events and information about individuals, which easily caused confusion and feelings of being overwhelmed. To cope with this, they resulted to always keeping all eyes except for the two on their face closed until their abilities were needed.

They decided upon staying within their birthclan, unlike their siblings who excitedly and enthusiastically journeyed elsewhere, whether it be to other clans or to serve deities. Tyrian did have an older sister, however, remaining in the clan: Sakura. They quickly bonded with Sakura and looked to her for wisdom and advice, and soon the two became inseparable.
