Daedra, a title rather than a name, was bestowed upon a sorceress so powerful, it was said she could rival the gods themselves. It is said that Daedra is older than Sornieth itself; some call her a god, and others a demon. She doesn't care to clarify. Legend says she once ruled over the night itself, creating the stars and the heavens as we know them. It is also said that, due to the fact that she has no soul, she has no connection to Sornieth, and therefore cannot truly be killed - only banished.

She is said to be able to be summoned using variations of conjuration magic, though none have been brave enough to try. Several different religions and cultures in Sornieth explain the titled Daedra in different ways, making the distinction difficult to properly define, especially due to certain Daedra discrediting some explanations. In many cultures, Daedra are considered to be "pandomaic" beings, or beings born and created from pure chaotic energy; it is claimed that the Daedra were formed prior to the creation of Sornieth.

No one knows the true story of Daedra or how she came to be. She is as mysterious as she is powerful, and many dragons across Sornieth have since spun great yarns and powerful tales of who, or what, she is. Her true identity will likely never truly be known.

Daedra is a chaotic being; no one knows exactly what she'll do - or when. She is only ever on her own side, and thus, impossible to predict. Some find her antics a nuisance, but others find, on certain days when one catches her in a particularly foul mood, that her knack for whimsy can quickly turn deadly.

Daedra loves to stir things up and tends to be ambivalent regarding whatever harm might come to others while she’s having fun. She often watches her victims with her iconic grin bright and spread across her face as she melts into the night sky itself, becoming the darkness that surrounds you. One would be wise to never forget an encounter with this trickster god.
